Life Outside Recruitment – Mallorca 2025 🌴🚴‍♂️

I’m passionate about recruitment — but outside of work, I’m also a keen triathlete. Under tri.harder.jm you’ll usually find me swimming, cycling, or running, fitting training around family life and work.

On a recent family holiday to Mallorca, I managed to get some serious rides in. Early 6am starts meant I could log on for work afterwards and still have most of the day free for the pool, the beach, and building sandcastles with my daughter.

Holidaying with fam is the best!

Balancing Work, Family & Training ⚖️

This trip was a great reminder that balance really matters — and with a little planning, it is possible to make space for all three:

Exercise for wellbeing: Those early morning rides gave me time to clear my head, reset, and come back sharper — proof that looking after physical health pays dividends for mental wellbeing too.

Windy roads in Mallorca

Family first: Thanks to early starts (and a very supportive family!), I could train, be back with fam from 9-10am and still have the day to build sandcastles, jump in the pool. and explore the island together.

Family First

Work with passion: Recruitment doesn’t feel like “work” when you love what you do. With strong processes in place, I could stay connected without it taking over — and even while away, three candidates secured new job offers!

Mallorca 2025 – Cycling, Family & Balance 🌴🚴‍♂️🏖️

Mallorca really is a special place — not just for the cycling, but as a family destination too. By heading out early, I was able to enjoy epic rides while still making it back for breakfast and time with the family.

Peaceful and scenic cycling

On the bike, Mallorca delivered in every way:

  • 6,864 ft of elevation gain on my biggest ride, including a single climb of 2,818 ft.
  • A 70.3 mile loop with three major climbs — a perfect endurance test.
  • Sweeping mountain and coastal views that made every climb worthwhile.

Big climbs ahead!

Off the bike, it offered just as much:

  • Awesome days both in and by the pool.
  • Time on the beach and exploring the island together.
  • The chance for us all to slow down, recharge, and make memories.

On the move, up a hill!

Mallorca gave me the best of all worlds: world-class cycling, real family time, and even a remote office with a view (only when needed - it’s important to keep the balance!).
